If you have a container of Hershey's cocoa powder sitting in your pantry and are wondering what you can make with it while following a keto diet, you have plenty of delicious options.
This collection of keto recipes with Hershey's cocoa powder includes rich chocolate cakes, fudgy brownies, cookies, donuts, cheesecakes, fudge, fat bombs, and easy no-bake desserts.
Hershey's cocoa has been a staple in my kitchen for years, long before I began creating low-carb recipes. Today, I use both Hershey's Natural Unsweetened Cocoa and Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa in many of my sugar-free chocolate recipes.
Every recipe in this collection is low in carbs, sugar-free, and gluten-free, so chocolate lovers can enjoy plenty of options without the traditional sugar and flour.
What Can You Make With Hershey's Cocoa Powder On Keto?

Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder works beautifully in all kinds of keto chocolate recipes.
You can use it to make:
- Chocolate cakes and cupcakes
- Fudgy keto brownies
- Chocolate cookies
- Baked chocolate donuts
- Chocolate cheesecakes and pies
- Keto fudge
- Fat bombs
- Chocolate frosting
- No-bake chocolate desserts
Because cocoa powder provides intense chocolate flavor without added sugar, a relatively small amount can transform a basic keto dessert into something rich and deeply chocolatey.
Below you will find dozens of my favorite keto cocoa powder recipes, including several recipes created specifically with Hershey's cocoa.
Is Hershey's Cocoa Powder Keto-Friendly?
Yes. Hershey's unsweetened baking cocoa can fit into a keto diet because it does not contain added sugar.
The important word is unsweetened. Cocoa drink mixes and sweetened chocolate powders are different products and may contain significant amounts of added sugar.
When making keto chocolate desserts, I use unsweetened cocoa powder and pair it with a keto-friendly sugar substitute.
Would you like to save this?
Always check the nutrition label and serving size of the particular cocoa product you purchase, since those are what you should use when calculating the carbohydrates in your recipe.
Hershey's Natural Cocoa vs. Special Dark Cocoa
I use both Hershey's Natural Unsweetened Cocoa and Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa, depending on the recipe.
Natural cocoa has the familiar chocolate flavor many of us grew up baking with, while Special Dark produces a deeper color and more intense dark chocolate flavor.
They can behave differently in baked recipes because natural and alkalized cocoa have different acidity levels. For that reason, I recommend using the type of cocoa specified in each individual recipe, particularly when baking soda is involved.
For no-bake desserts such as fudge, fat bombs, cheesecake fillings, and chocolate pie, there is generally more flexibility to choose the cocoa flavor you prefer.
