Keto Scones

If you are a lover of scones doing a low-carb diet, you are going to really enjoy this collection of keto scones. There is something tasty for everyone.

I mean really who doesn’t love a good scone? Well, this girl certainly does. And being on a ketogenic diet was not about to interfere with my passion for them.

This is why I went straight to my kitchen and began experimenting until I was able to create a recipe base for low-carb scones that could satisfy my cravings without the worry of consuming too many carbs.

Look the way I see it, just because you’re on a keto diet doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy scones anymore. All that’s needed are recipes that can mimic what we love about traditional scones minus the wheat and sugar that makes them a no-no.

And that my friend is exactly what I was able to create for you.

This growing keto-friendly scone collection includes classic flavors as well as seasonal favorites. If you are new to low-carb baking be sure to also check out our Keto Baking Tips to have all the advice and tools you need to bake consistent results each and every time.

Keto Scones

What’s your favorite keto scone flavor? It’s so hard for me to choose but I’m certain you’ll find at least one if not more you can add to your list of keto recipes to try.

Do you know what I love most about these keto-friendly scones? How super easy they are to make since there is no rolling of dough involved. Awesomeness right?

The vast majority of scone recipes call for rolling and then cutting the dough prior to baking. But I’ve found a way to make them simply by just spreading the dough into a cast-iron skillet. This saves time and ensures that they have the perfect crusty crumb.

How To Make Keto Scones

These keto-friendly scones use a combination of almond and coconut flour. I use them both because each of these flours plays a role in getting the texture as close to real scones as possible.

The recipes also call for melted butter, sour cream, and eggs. I then customize each scone by folding in different add-ins. What’s more, many of my sweet scone recipes also include icing just to further elevate them.

The Tools You’ll Need

With only a few baking tools you can easily make these scones, the following are what I recommend.

I’m a great fan of using a cast-iron skillet when making my scones. I feel that the scones bake more evenly and it allows for the scones to have a perfect crust.

But if you do not yet own one then you can alternatively use a 9-inch baking pan it just won’t produce the same texture.

Do u have a recipe for keto pear scones? We have a pear tree in our yard

Hi Glenda, Pears would probably be too sweet to be considered keto. However, if your macro permits it then I would just slice one pear into thin slices and fold it into the batter. It must be so lovely to have a pear tree in your yard.
