Keto Chocolate Chess Pie

Every year during the holidays my rich fudge pie made it to the table along with many other desserts. Sharing a chocolate pie was my way of ensuring that the chocolate lovers in my life were well-taken care of.

Once I went keto a low carb option of that fudgy pie had to emerge. After all, it was just as traditional as other classics and this girl would not be denied.

I knew it was only a matter of time before my chocolate fudge pie got a makeover. My keto chess pie makes dessert a little more elevated. I don’t know why but pie always feels special to me.

Thankfully, making a chocolate chess pie that was keto-friendly didn’t prove to be challenging once I learned the science behind keto baking

The first key was getting that crusty top that forms on top of a traditional chess pie perfected. The second was creating a simple press-in crust that would make it a breeze to make.

I chose to make my no-roll pie crust with coconut flour, but if you rather a more traditional crust that can be rolled, I encourage you to check out our easy keto pie crust, which is made with almond flour. If you go that route, you will need only half the recipe. I give instructions on the recipe card.

Best Sugar-Substitute Options For Sugar-Free Chocolate Chess Pie

As far as sweeteners are concerned, I recommend the use of Lakanto’s granulated sugar substitute it’s their erythritol and monk fruit sweetener that is as close to sugar as it gets.

Having said that, I’m also partial to the brand Swerve which is an erythritol blend. Similar to Lakanto, it uses sugar alcohols and has a 0 % impact on blood sugar.

You could also use the stevia and erythritol-based brand Pyure if you prefer to use a stevia-based sweetener. I will, however, add that we are not sure why but chocolate and stevia do not always place nice and can intensify the aftertaste of stevia.

Due note that if this is your pick, make sure you reduce the amount called for in the recipe by half since it’s a much sweeter option.

Lastly, if you can’t easily find a more natural sugar substitute, you can also use Splenda with good success. I know not everyone would agree with me here, and I respect that, but in my book, it’s still better than regular sugar.

Join Our Jesus And Keto Movement

If there is one thing I am particularly proud of sharing it’s how we combined our Christian faith with the keto diet.    In case you don’t know, Randy and I came to the keto diet looking at it from a Christian perspective.

As believers, we live our entire lives supported by God’s grace. So when the Holy Spirit led us to combine our Christian faith and the keto diet, we did so in hopes of finding lasting transformation.

To say we needed God’s intervention is putting it mildly. When we followed the Holy Spirit’s prompting to we got on the path to real transformation.

Knowing firsthand the benefits of this decision we have created a closed Christian group that is using the keto diet to transform their lives.

I love how supportive and encouraging this group of believers is. It’s exciting to see how people are transforming their lives by combining this lifestyle with the Christian faith.

The testimonies coming out of our Fittoservegroup are what motivate us to continue to share what we’ve learned.  We invite you to join our Private Facebook Group and see if it’s not the key you have been missing.

Be sure to request our FREE Jesus and Keto E-Book (First 7 Days) We hope it blesses you.
