If you're looking for a flavorful dinner that feels a little special but is still simple enough for a weeknight, this keto Asian sesame baked chicken is a recipe you'll want to keep on repeat.
It delivers bold savory flavor, a hint of sweetness, and a beautiful golden finish while staying completely low-carb, sugar-free, and gluten-free.
What makes this dish especially easy is how the marinade does most of the work. A blend of coconut aminos, toasted sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and a brown sugar substitute creates a rich sauce that infuses the chicken with flavor as it bakes.
The result is tender, juicy chicken with that classic sesame-ginger taste many of us love from Asian-inspired dishes, but without the carbs found in traditional sauces.
This recipe also uses a whole roasted chicken, making it perfect for family dinners or meal prep. As the chicken bakes, the marinade caramelizes slightly and the skin becomes beautifully golden after a quick broil.
Garnished with sesame seeds and fresh scallions, it's a dish that feels impressive yet comes together with very little effort.
It's the kind of recipe that reminds you that eating keto doesn't mean sacrificing flavor. In fact, recipes like this prove that simple ingredients can create restaurant-quality meals right at home.

How To Make Keto Asian Sesame Baked Chicken

Start by preparing the marinade in a medium-size bowl.
Combine the coconut aminos, toasted sesame oil, white vinegar, fish sauce, olive oil, sriracha sauce, brown sugar substitute, minced garlic, minced ginger, allspice powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, black pepper, chopped scallions, and sesame seeds.
Stir everything well so the ingredients are fully combined and fragrant.
Place the whole chicken in a large baking dish and coat it thoroughly with the marinade, making sure the sauce reaches all sides of the chicken.
Cover the dish and allow the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator for at least one hour, although overnight will allow the flavors to deepen even more.
When you're ready to cook, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Leave the chicken in the marinade and bake it uncovered for about an hour, or until the chicken is cooked through.
For the final touch, switch the oven to broil for the last few minutes of cooking. This step helps the skin develop a beautiful golden color while intensifying the sesame flavors.

Once done, garnish the chicken with additional chopped scallions and sesame seeds before serving.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for several days or frozen for later meals.

Tips for the Best Flavor
- Allow time for marinating. Even one hour will help the flavors penetrate the chicken, but overnight gives the best results.
- Use toasted sesame oil. It provides the rich nutty flavor that gives this dish its signature taste.
- Broil carefully. The final broil step adds color and texture, but keep a close eye on the chicken so it doesn't burn.

This sesame keto chicken pairs with many keto-friendly sides. Some favorites include:
- Cauliflower fried rice
