The following is a list of ingredients you’ll need to make these almond flour churros. You can find the full printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Tools Needed

To make these little keto churro minis, you’ll need, most importantly, a 24-cavity muffin pan.

I used a non-stick metal pan, but you can also choose to use a silicone 24-cavity muffin pan, in which case you should place a baking sheet underneath so that the minis do not overbake.

But don’t worry; if you don’t have a mini muffin pan, you can also bake these in a regular muffin tin. I’ve included the baking time for both below.

You’ll also need mixing bowls and an electric mixer (hand mixer or stand mixer).

I always like to use a Silicone spatula when using an electric mixer to scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is being mixed well.

How To Make Keto Mini Churros

These low-carb churro bites are made so quickly and easily that you’ll be shocked! That’s what makes them a great keto dessert, in my book.

The churro dough was inspired by our very popular keto almond flour cream cheese pound cake recipe.

By now, you all must know how much this girl loves a simple recipe that is absolutely delicious! This recipe is no different.

This is a low carb dessert you’ll want to add to your keto meal planner because it’s one that will become one of your favorite recipes.

You’ll mix your wet and dry ingredients separately and then combine the two. Then it’s just a matter of baking them, dunking them in melted butter, and then rolling them in cinnamon “sugar.”

I used salted butter for the melted butter needed to roll the granulated sugar substitute. I feel the extra salt amplifies the churro taste, so there is that to keep in mind.

Would you like to save this?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

Store your leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature.

For best flavor, I recommend having these the same day and serving them warm, but if you decide to freeze, I recommend leaving the cinnamon “sugar” topping and adding it after it comes to room temperature.

In my opinion, these gluten-free churros are perfectly served as is, but you can, of course, serve them with some sugar-free ice cream or some sugar-free chocolate syrup.

Sugar-Substitute Options

When it comes to choosing which sugar substitute to use for these sugar-free churros, I have some options for you.

You’ll get excellent results with any of the following sweeteners:

My two favorite granulated sugar substitutes for this recipe are Lakanto Monk Fruit and Swerve.

They both have a granulated version that works very well for the cinnamon sugar. It’s what gives these minis their churro feel and taste!

You could also use the stevia- and erythritol-based brand Pyure. But if using Pyure, you will want to use half the amount called for in this recipe since it’s a much sweeter option.

Join Our Jesus And Keto Movement

Our family came to the keto diet looking at it from a Christian perspective. As believers, we live our entire lives supported by God’s grace.

So when the Holy Spirit led us to combine our Christian faith and the keto diet, we did so in hopes of finding lasting transformation.

To say we needed God’s intervention is to put it mildly. When we followed the Holy Spirit’s prompting, we got on the path to real transformation.

Knowing firsthand the benefits of this decision, we have created a closed Christian group using the keto diet to transform their lives.

I love how supportive and encouraging this group of believers is. It’s exciting to see how people are transforming their lives by combining this lifestyle with the Christian faith.

We invite you to join our Private Facebook Group and see if it’s not the key you have been missing.

Keto Churros Minis

Yield: 30
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Additional Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Calling all churro fans! These keto churros (minis) are like little clouds bites of cinnamon goodness. They’re the perfect substitute for traditional churros but without all of the sugar and carbs. The dough is made with almond flour and the minis are dunked in melted butter and rolled in a combo of granulated sugar substitute and cinnamon powder.

Ingredients

Cinnamon Sugar-Substitute Topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer blend on high the butter with the sugar substitute until the mixture is light and fluffy and well incorporated.
  4. Next, add the room temperature cream cheese and vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition.
  6. Lastly, add the dry ingredients: the almond flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix well until the batter is fully combined.
  7. Distribute the batter evenly into a well-greased 24-cup capacity mini muffin pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, when they are slightly browned and an inserted toothpick comes out clean they're ready.
  8. Allow the minis to cool for about 5 minutes.
  9. Churro topping: In a small bowl, melt the salted butter in the microwave. This will be the butter used to dunk the minis. Set aside.
  10. In another small bowl, combine the granulated sugar substitute and cinnamon powder. Set aside.
  11. Using a spoon, dunk the minis into the melted butter bowl, then roll each mini in the cinnamon "sugar" mixture until evenly coated on all sides.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
  13. You can store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, but these have the best flavor when eaten the same day.

Notes

If making in a regular-sized 12-capacity cupcake/ muffin pan bake for 22-25 minutes.

This recipe also doubles easily.

If you need to freeze these churros, I will do so without the butter and cinnamon sugar substitute coating. Then, once they defrost completely, proceed to add the topping.

Our popular keto almond flour cream cheese pound cake recipe inspired the churro dough.
